Sharon was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University in 1968 with a BA in Secondary Education. She married Bill in 1970. When Bill finished law school, they moved to Ventura to raise their family. The Parker's have two grown children: Brad and his wife, Emily, live in Escondido with their two children, Romy and Monte; Lindsay and her husband, Shiyan, live in Burbank with their dog, Ruby.

In 1976, Sharon began her committed walk with the Lord Jesus and her love for God's Word. She has attended VMC since 1978 and became a member in 1979.

Sharon has served at VMC on the Rest Home Ministry and as a Deaconess. In 1992 she was aked to serve for six months as the Interim Women's Ministries Director, and the six months turned into 16 years. Her titles included Pastor to Women and Pastor to Women and Discipleship. In 2008, Sharon retired from staff. She continued to be a part of the Holiday Extravaganza Team and later joined The Connections Team.
